About

Oh, the “about” page. You want to know more “about” me.
I’m Emily, the DesignHER Momma. This is a blawg.
People call me a corporate interior designer. I like to make things look sleek and awesome. But as of recently, I find myself answering more to “Momma” than anything.
Life is good, I’m not complaining.
The condensed time line:
Graduated from a Big 10 university with a BA in Interior Design. Got married. Moved to downtown Indianapolis. Got a big fancy job at an architectural company for little pay and long hours. Had a baby girl. Started a blog. Became self employed. Had another baby girl. Finally had a baby boy. Did I miss anything?
This is me:
I’m the author of this blog. Wife, Mother, Friend, and Sister. I would never in a million years call myself a writer, although here I am. I specifically blog about my daily life, about my feeeeeelings. I am not a brand, I am a person.
This is my husband and coincidentally my best friend. He works for a big company where they make drugz. I’m pretty sure he wishes he was a rock star. We got married right after college and have been married ever since (8 years and counting), despite his less than rock star status.
This is the newest addition to the DesignHER household. We welcomed baby boy Gage into our life November of 2009. My husband is pretty geeked that the playing field has been evened up a bit.
We’re living and growing up in Indianapolis, working on being the best urban dwellers we can be. We’re fully committed to living in the city. We work, socialize, cultivate change and worship our God here. It’s not always easy, but it’s guaranteed to be an adventure.

So there you have it, DesignHER Momma & Co. in a nutshell. Please feel free to come here often and enjoy. This is my personal space – which I like to keep clean and happy. I’ve had many lurkers but not too many trolls -let’s keep it that way, ok?
Like my Momma always taught me “If you got nothin’ nice to say, don’t say anything at all”.
Love You!
