I’m in a school daze…

So this is just one of those post that I thought might not ever come. The day has finally come where PK has started pre-school! Both of us couldn’t be more excited. She’s excited to play, I’m excited to have some quietness in the morning during Birdies nap time. Or at least a small reprieve from craft time/game time 24/7.

I’m pretty sure that this is par for the 4 year old course, but PK is spastic busy ALL DAY LONG, like crazy busy. The girl needs constant interaction, bouncing from one activity to another, leaving a hurricane of mess in her wake. Honestly, I’ve never seen anything like it.

I’m so excited to get a few hours a week of piece and quiet (or at least a bit quieter)…

Don’t get me wrong, I love having her home most of the time, and know these days are numbered. I understand that someday I’ll wish I had these days back. But honestly, we’re a much better team when we have some time apart. She goes to school for only 9 hours a week, but it makes such a difference with her (and my) attitude for the other 159 hours she’s home with me.

Above photo is typical PK making a funny face so I can’t get a good picture. Whatever. She’ll regret it some day when this picture flashes up at her wedding reception as her “first day of big girl school” shot.

  2. Ahhhh…the joys of school. I hope you fully enjoy those little breaks. Whether it is work or play for you, peace and quiet is always nice. I actually don’t have meetings planned this week while my kids are at school and I am not quite sure what I am going to do with myself…oh yeah building boma! yeah!

re: spastic busy — Don’t have a 4-yr-old yet, but I don’t think it’s entirely normal. But, isn’t normal boring? | re: 159 hours — impressive math | re: PK pics — Very cute first pic. Funny second pic with corresponding wedding day slideshow threat. | All around good posting work here, designHER. [Ah]

My oldest is now in 2nd grade, my youngest a month into Kindergarten.

I’ve yet to reach that point where I wish I had those other days back. I’m not sure if I ever will. To everything there is a season and I had my season. I’m fully enjoying this new season.

  8. What will you do with those newly found 9 hours of quiet time. I would nap right along with Birdie, but I tend to be a bit lazy.

    She’s adorable!

  9. I can’t recall ever meeting a young’un so confident as to wear an animal print dress to school with mismatched clogs on the first day.

You’ve done a good job Momma!
