Wispers heard during Christmastime celebrations…

n2326972 50544294 2226 Wispers heard during Christmastime celebrations...Our holiday celebration can really be summed up with by quoting conversations I heard while partying with the family in Michigan. In random order, the words that were spoken (and I overheard):

Find my snow pants so I can go dashing through the snow…
~pk on wanting to play outside

I’m very, very uncomfortable!
~my cousin Abby, on wanting to go into labor and have a baby. She had her baby girl 48 hours later. These words were also spoken by about everyone in the family after round 3 of cheesecake dessert. As far as I know, nobody else had the relief of getting rid of their holiday weight through childbirth. I’m still waiting for my contractions to kick in…

Vinny, it’s time…
~this is how my sister calls her dog when she wants him. Most people might say “come” or “here boy”. But no, she says “it’s time” which is so weird but better than what she used to say, which was “surrender”.

It’s different than the rest, I don’t like it.
~PK on upon opening the present my sister Jayme gave her. This will necessitate a blog post all of it’s own in the future. She didn’t like her “different” Polly Pockets. Apparently Polly Pockets do not smoke cigarettes.

That’s just nasty and wrong…
~spoken between laughs and snorts after reading our Great Aunt’s Christmas letter to the family. Apparently taking about your 90 year old husbands penis issues is not really something you share with extended relatives. For the record, clothesline clips are bad but “these things called condoms” work much better.

I’m about to give the most important gift of my life…
~said to my sister Jayme by my sister Jenna’s boyfriend Lance. He was hoping she would stick around. She left. He proposed to Jenna 30 minutes later.

Yes!!! We’re getting married!!!
~spoke by my sister Jenna 15 seconds after Lance got on his knee and asked for her hand.

Just because your bigger doesn’t mean I can’t beat you up.
~spoke by my Dad, to newly engaged Lance about 2 hours after the proposal. In my Dad’s defense, I think my Dad was enjoying his holiday cheer a little too much.

Mom! Don’t let me forget my pot when I leave…
~spoken by me as I’m packing up getting ready to head back to Indy. Hubs was ticked I didn’t tell him I had pot. I kid, I kid, I took my 18 gallon all clad pot home with me to boil crab dinner in. After the dinner was done, my mom proceeded to boil sweaters in it the rest of the weekend. Trust me, boiled musty sweaters from Goodwill doesn’t smell as good as it sounds.

As you can see, it was fantastic, crazy and full of laughs and surprises. I’m sure I missed many funnies spoken but this is all I can remember right now. Did I mention there was lot’s of drinking going on?

Hope your holiday was great! Mine was….

Your great Aunt’s letter reminds me of similar holiday letters my husband’s aunt and uncle send each year basically summing up all their medical problems from the past 12 months.
