Easter defined

April 10, 2009 | Category: I'm a Christian

Over the past few weeks, many of you have come up to me and expressed concern for not knowing that my father-in-law was that sick. Honestly, I can be candid with you and tell you we, as a family had no idea ourselves. The end was sooner than any of us could have ever predicted or wanted.

My beautiful sisters-in-laws (2 of Michael’s older sisters) have made a “vlog” of sorts that will be played at my father-in-laws church this Easter weekend. It’s a beautiful video that time lines how things played out in his last days here on Earth. It’s also a beautiful tribute to my father-in-laws favorite holiday – Easter.

Please watch it – for this is what Easter means to my family this year.
*warning – the video’s a tearjerker (but maybe I’m just emotional right now); and yes, that first pic of him is with my sweet little PK.

For all the heartache I feel. For all the grief I bear. I have hope in the Risen Lord.

For my precious Drew, Maddie, Papa, and everyone else that I can’t celebrate with on Earth this Easter Season – Jesus please come quickly.

My friends, I pray that your Easter has meaning – meaning that goes beyond the bunny, hidden egg and hollow chocolate.

What a beautiful tribute to your father-in-law! It was a tearjerker, but hearing the faithfulness of your sisters-in-law was great!

Amen. Death does not overcome. Though we grieve we are not those who grieve without hope.

Thanks for sharing that video, Emily. It makes me smile and cry to think of your family’s Papa pain free in heaven with his Savior!

My thoughts are with you today as you continue to remember and grieve.

What a awesome tribute to your father-in-law!! It was soo true but meant soo much coming from his daughters and soo soon after loosing him.

Thank you for your firm reminder that Easter is SOOO MUCH MORE than just eggs, candy and some bunny!

Thinking of you and yours on Easter. That is a beautiful tribute to your FIL. Happy Easter and hang in there – how lucky we are to have Faith.

I’m so sorry for your loss.

The video is a wonderful tribute to your father-in-law.

Happy (Belated) Easter! (Although Easter is a daily celebration for those who believe!)
