The Rage can walk, I swear.

November 4, 2010 | Category: I'm The Rage's Momma

Both of my girls started walking around 11 months old.  By their first birthday, they were easily doing the creepy Oogachaka baby dance.

Gage will be one years old in 16 days.  He’s working hard, actively training to reach the milestone that was so effortless for his sisters.  Tuesday, after lunch with Miss Casey, he took about 4 unassisted and unprovoked steps.  We screamed and cheered, and probably scared him a little.

I immediately called Michael, who was on the road, returning home from a short business trip. I said: “Guess what just happened”.

He knew instantly. “Gage took his first steps, while I was out of town”.

(which he had explicitly asked Gage NOT to do, while he was away. Apparently Gage is starting to exercise defiance already, not surprised.)

Anyway, needless to say, I tried to recreate the event as soon as Michael walked in the door.  Here was our best attempt:

He’s determined, I can see the Eye of the Tiger.  The creepy baby dance isn’t far away.

Looks like a lot of excersize for the guy picking him back up six times! :) My kids never walked until after they were a year old so…he’s doing good.

P.S. I wanted to tell you that I just figured out how to leave you a comment since you moved to WordPress…everytime I try and I put my website address in (www.dishesinthedryer.blogspot.com) it says that I am not a member of that website and won’t let me comment. So today – three months later I left the website address out and voila!

    I’m back.

He’s ready to go! He can come walk with K, she’s got it down now and will even hold his hand. Although she still kinda looks a little like a “drunk midget” as my husband likes to say… ;)

Yay Gage! (I’m totally jealous that the exersaucer is still a viable option in your house, by the way…)
