Weekend Gimme – it’s a scarf, or necklace, or something. | designhermomma.com

Weekend Gimme – it’s a scarf, or necklace, or something.

I don’t know how to knit.  And I know how to do one (and only) one very basic crochet stitch.

But that hasn’t stopped me from buying yarn.  Yeah, I buy yarn and don’t know how to use it.  That’s ok, right?

Learning how to use yarn appropriately has been on my New Years resolution list for at least 3 years.

A few nights ago, I put my one (and only) very basic crochet stitch to good use.

In about the time it took to watch an episode of Modern Family, I whipped up this scarf, er, necklace thing.

Easy Crochet Necklace

It’s nothing amazing, but it puts just a little color into my wardrobe, which suffers desperatly from “the void of color”.

How to make:

Various colors of yarn, mixed with various sizes of needles. Single crochet stitch all the merry way.

Imperfections encouraged.

  7. Very cool! I think I could learn to be crafty but I just don’t have the drive for it at this point in time.

Maybe you could make a bunch and sell them with the ugly Christmas sweaters.

  8. love this. Now I have to ask, it is just one long piece that you have wrapped around?

Also you so need to come to Ohio…will teach you to knit, and give you more than one stitch to use for your scarves!

  9. That’s really cute. If you’ve got that stitch you’re nearly halfway there. Seriously, once you take yourself up on that New Year’s resolution you’ll be wondering why you didn’t try it before.
