Thrifting :: The Afghan Edition

August 18, 2011 | Category: I'm a crafty martha, I'm a Shopper

That’s right, it’s time for another “what Emily dragged home from skeevy places in and around the greater Indianapolis area” vlog! If you missed my first video, here it is, in all it’s glory.

Before you watch the video, I must warn you, Nola’s eating her lunch, and apparently she smacks her food when she chews and you can her it. Sorry.

And then, like I promised you, what I’ll be doing with that old plate you saw in the video:

Oh la la, be still my heart. Don’t you love it? I stumbled across this by way of pinterest. Casey pinned it first, although it looks like it might have originated here. I’m not sure. Anyway, I’m totally doing this in my entry way.

And the afghan? It totally washed up perfectly, I’m sitting here snuggled up in it while writing this post.

So how about you? Score any cool crap lately?

    I totally have a stack of plates on my buffet, a collection from VW, yard sales, & the Anthro sale table. They are going on my dining room wall between my windows. Floor to ceiling.

    I have been collecting glasses as well, I have some neat ones, although I try to get at least 4 glass sets (I have no idea why)

    Love the plate wall, I may have to do that going down the stairs in the house.

    AWESOME afghan!! That is a great find!! I loved the coffee thingy too. We should do something when the weather gets cool just so we can use it!

    Great video! And, I LOVE that plate idea. Please post a picture of yours when you get it done. I just may steal that idea for you and try it in my home.

    Love the video. Last night after watching it I had a very in depth dream about being at the favorite local priced per pound store. I was digging out treasure after treasure. It was literally my DREAM thrift experience…designer shoes and clothing, home stuff, unique baby toys…(don’t know why I was so excited about that last one.) True story.

    I love that plate display! Sarah has one in her kitchen, but I love the neat location and design of this one!

    I got a pair of heavy, really adorable silvery mary jane type shoes this morning for my daughter for $5 (they were from Gap) at our local consignment store. I was happy!

    I love when you do videos. Especially getting to see your kids in action (vs photos). You all are the cutest family, every single one of you! Have a good week, glad your blanket no longer smells like ‘grandmas’ (!! that cracked me up!!).
